I joined the School of Political Science and Economics at Waseda University in 2019. I work at the intersection between international political economy and economic history. I am leading an investigation into "The Law, Politics, and Economics of Financial Benchmarks" sponsored by the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) (2021-2025). Before this, I was the Principal Investigator of the Sterling Area Revisited Project, funded by an ESRC New Investigator Grant (2018-2021). You can find further information about my major projects here. I have held visiting positions at the Graduate Institute in Geneva and Georgetown University. I received my M.Phil. and my Ph.D. from the University of Oxford. From 2015 until 2016, I was a Max Weber Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. Before beginning my graduate studies, I worked as a capital markets lawyer in London and Brussels.
